Ruth

The study of Ruth has been a real blessing. The parallels to Christ as our redeemer are amazing. Ruth was a good and virtuous woman with an honorable reputation. She was a dedicated, hard worker. Her kindness and loyalty towards Naomi were well known. Yet with all of these commendable qualities, Ruth could not change her situation. Her life and future prospects were bleak. She was a foriegner, a widow, as a woman - a non-entity in that time, no name of her own - simply the Moabitess, and absolutely no status or standing in the community. Then came Boaz who loved her and redeemed her. From that point on, her life and her future changed. She was now Boaz's wife. She was no longer a slave in the fields but the bride of the one who owns the fields.

My hope is that you can say like Job - "For I know that my redeemer liveth"

Thanks be to God for His unspeakable gift.

Daily Bread

In Matthew chapter 6 Jesus gives us a template on how we should pray and the things we should include. One of the elements is asking for our daily bread - "Give us today our daily bread".

What have you asked God to put on your plate today?

Thanksgiving

Its good to have a day specifically set aside to reflect on how much we have to be thankful for. But thanksgiving should be a continuous celebration.

I Thes. 5:18 Eph. 5:20 Psalms 100:4

Without a thankful heart, we will not experience the abundant life.

Have a great Thanksgiving.

Heaven or Hell

The Bible tells us in John 14:2,3 that Heaven is a prepared place. It also tells us in
Matthew 25: 41 that Hell is a prepared place.

Which place are you prepared to go to?

Something to Chew on

This past Sunday our hymn of decision was "I Have Decided To Follow Jesus".
The last verse we sang said "My Cross I'll Carry Till I See Jesus No Turning Back No Turning Back".
Luke 9:23 says we should take up our cross daily and follow Christ.

What is your "cross"?

Bible Study 11/08/09

Please make every effort to be in class this Sunday. Pastor will be speaking and you will want to hear what he has to say. Continue to pray about what your part might be in the class. Stay faithful.
